Bahen & Co. Brazil 70%

What I like about the Bahen wrappers in general is that the label on the wrapper has been glued on with a glue which makes it easy to remove the label without tearing the wrapper paper into pieces. The wrapper has pictures of old (?) chocolate making machines with their names written in German. Looks kinda nice and goes well with the theme of chocolate. As with the PNG bar, the chocolate bar itself isn't too exciting. Small, basic pieces, no decoration.

The aroma is very fruity and I can smell a strong citrus fruit presence. This is very promising. I can't really make out any other aromas apart from that, but that is quite enough to get my mouth watering.

Just as with the Bahen PNG bar, I find the chocolate a little bit floury. This is not quite as floury, but I'm starting to suspect that this texture is something that Bahen & Co have decided to go with quite knowingly. A smoother texture would give me more pleasure.

The chocolate flavour is fruity and acidic, but not as much as the aroma was. Together with the fruityness I can taste something much more earthy, which however is not too much in the earthy or dirt/tobacco direction. The overall taste is fresh and easy to enjoy. There is just the right amount of bitterness and aboslutely no stuffyness here. It's actually very tasty. Good on ya, mates.

Just like the general flavour of the chocolate, the aftertaste is very enjoyable. There is some fruityness or acidity, but more than that there is a general taste of good chocolate was here.

Ingredients: Cocoa bean & organic cane sugar

Tämän valmistajan kääreissä on erikoisen hyvää se, että ne on liimattu kiinni liimalla, joka mahdollistaa kääreiden avaamisen ilman että kääreet avatessa repeävät. Kääreissä esitellään vanhoja (?), saksaksi nimettyjä suklaantekolaitteita. Näyttää ihan kivalta ja sopii ainakin teemaan. Kuten PNG-levynkin kohdalla, itse levy ei ole kovinkaan jännittävän näköinen. Pienet peruspalat, ei koristeluja tai kuviointeja.

Tuoksu on erittäin hedelmäinen ja haistan vahvan sitrushedelmien läsnäolon. Vaikuttaa lupaavalta. En oikeastaan tunnista muita tuoksuja, mutta tuokin saa jo syljen erittymään suussani.

Kuten saman valmistajan PNG-levykin, on tämänkin koostumus jauhoinen. Tämä ei ehkä ole ihan yhtä jauhoinen, mutta herää epäilys siitä, josko Bahen & Co onkin tietoisesti halunnut juuri tällaisen rakenteen suklaaseen. Sileämpi koostumus ilahduttaisi minua kuitenkin enemmän.

Suklaan maku on hedelmäinen ja hapokas, mutta ei yhtä vahvasti kuin mitä tuoksu ennakoi. Hedelmäisyyden lisäksi maistan jotain maanläheistä, joka kuitenkaan ei mene liiaksi multa- ja tupakkakategoriaan. Kaikenkaikkiaan maku on raikas ja nautinnollinen. Kitkeryyttä on juuri sopiva määrä, eikä tunkkaisuutta ole lainkaan. Itse asiassa tämä on erittäin maukasta. Good on ya, mates.

Aivan kuten suklaan varsinainen maku, on jälkimakukin erittäin nautinnollinen. Hedelmäisyyttä ja hapokkuutta löytyy, mutta ennen kaikkea suuhun jää sellainen hyvä suklaa oli täällä -fiilis.
